Hi folks, has anyone put a Megan Exhaust on their 550? Seriously considering picking one up but have read that they were made specifically for 535s..

I too was wondering about this, I hear them on the 535, would love to hear it on a 550i

I seriously considered this option on my 550i. I've concluded that if the system doesn't incorporate the valves, it will drone. I put a modified version of the E63 M6 mufflers on my 550i and the drone was bad. Ended up going with the F10 M5 muffler route with the valves and it is perfect.

Yes i was replying to the post above that it sounds really good on the 535

They are also made for the 550i, the piping is 2.5" and the stock piping for a 550i is 2.5" as well BUT if you wanted to be certain, they sell the megan (same) muffler but with 3" piping for the 650i.

I got a hold of someone with it on their 550i, no sound clips (he sold it) he did describe it as " It has a deep gurgle and makes some occasional popping sounds when I downshift. A little bit of drone on the highway when driving between 50-60 mph. No drone at higher speeds."

Then I found this video of a 650i with it, so it should sound the same on the 550i

Ideally I want to make it work with the M5 diffuser so that it looks just like this.
