Did you do the rears also?
And did you put the M sticker on and clear over that? I really need to do this as there is a big window with the new rims and I want to throw a break in the silver color in there.

The rears look brighter than the front and they also look like they have a clear coat over them as opposed to the front. Are they the same?

Great job! The decal is supposed to be placed the other way around, though, if you compare to the BMW M5 brakes. But it looks good the way you did it too! A cheap upgrade that is easily noticeable.
I did the same to my calipers, they look really good painted |

You guys taking the caliper off to mask it off or leaving that on while masking? Trying to think of the best way to get coverage on the rotor and brake pad so there is no overspray.

It's a 520d, so I believe they're the same size as the 528i. So they'll look a bit small with 21s compared to a 535i or 550i.

Those brakes do look a bit smaller
Maybe the euro spec 520 brakes are smaller I have the same 21" wheels up front and my brakes seem larger. Looks great regardless. |

Well I went ahead and did mine yesterday. Took a bunch of pics of the step by step on my 535i. Any point to post it up in a thread?
Here is the color I went with, the rears are textured metal and the front are smooth. Wish the rears were smooth as well! The paint looks like candy dripping off the caliper, multiple coats of clear really did it. |

You beat me to it. I was gonna paint mine the same color and paint. I was just waiting for my bronze wheels to come in first because I wasn't sure how well they would match up. I used the same paint without the clear on my motorcycle wheels. |

That looks proper. Nice work on the prepping; I see people spray near their cars with rattle cans, not thinking that shizzle goes everywhere.

I have done the same on my E60 for years, and I have to redo the calipers every spring. I live in Norway though, with 6 monts of snow, ice and salted roads. I believe they should last longer in better conditions. Anyway, it's a quick job to do when you change to summer tires. Well worth the effort in my opinion.
