i start to wonder if its something to do with the wheels...as i have no problem at all when i use the OEM 18" wheel
Mine does that exact same thing. Got it fixed yet?

Hi Ching,
I switched mine from 18" to 20" m5 oem wheels, same thing happening to me, I went to BMW for them to check and they told me nothing to do with the brakes and it must be my second hand wheels got scratched so it makes sounds...(seems like they just doesn't want to work on it since I switched the wheels) then I brought it to a wheel shop and ask about the sound they told me it has something to do with the loading on the stock brakes. when we switch to bigger wheels, the original brakes couldn't handle it and therefore create the sound that we hear.
Any Ching out there ever heard about this explanation? Because I might get a BBK for this reason/excuse......and I really wanna fix this sound...
Thank you
Chings

Hey,

Yes, i still have those noises, only on the first few brakes, after the brakes warm up, the sound will disappear. Is that the same to you?

Went to BMW couple of weeks ago for my first service, and i have the exact answer from your wheel shop, the BMW service advisor said this is to do with the loading and the F10 brake can't handle it at all. He suggest the only thing i can do is to change another set of wheel or change the brakes.

I tired the wheels on the 7 series as well and had the same problem.

There's a few member in the general forum had the 19" style 345 or 20" style 343 M5 OEM wheel on their F10, and they did not have any issues.

Is that something to do with our F10 in Hong Kong only?

I really want to fix this as well, this is really annoying.

Yes , Exactly same situation. Only when i start the car and when the car cools down.
I guess we should try grimlock ching's suggestion before jumping into BBK.

Thanks grimlock Ching.

Nice wheels vs squeaky brakes.

I choose the first one

I had the same issue when I switch from 17" to 21", took it back to factory they said maybe the weight of the wheel, but that's kind of BS, then I replace the brake pad Akebono from Rockauto, just the front now no more noise no more brake bite, feels great! If I knew I would do that even without the wheel upgrade, OEM brake pad sucks!
One more thing, the brake dust are all gone!

I got these squeaky noises from the brakes as well after upgrading from 17' wheels to 19" wheels last year. I brought back to BMW and they said these noises are resonance sounds of the wheels. (I don't believe it at all.) They said they had tried switching back to OEM wheels but without my presence and the noises went away. So BMW would not do anything for it.
Earlier this month, when I brought back my car for 1st year maintenance, they cleaned the brake pads and the noises seemed to be lower a little bit.
So, I am pretty sure this is a problem of the brakes.
