Calliper painting - thoughts?

I would quite like to get my callipers (sporting a black/rust look currently) painted, I am quite taken with the new blue paint BMW is using on the M-Sport models.

Does anyone have any ideas of the best way to achieve this?

I am guessing it will be all 4 callipers off, stripped and sprayed which I can't imagine will be convenient (car off road at a bodyshop) or cheap..I guess I could buy 4 replacement callipers and paint those but again not exactly cost efficient.

Only other thing I can think of is have my local BMW dealer do it whilst its in for a service so I am not carless. Unless anyone knows of a different way? I don't think the paint yourself kits are going to work to give as nice a finish..

Most people clean, degrease, mask and paint calipers in situ, it's a bit fiddly but with care a very acceptable finish can be achieved. Bear in mind that not many people will be going down on all fours to examine them with a torch.

Unless you have the pukka 4-pot Brembo calipers I think the blue would look naff. I would be inclined to wire-brush and black paint.

To be fair that's a very good idea..does anyone know where to get the correct blue in a high temp calliper paint?

Looks good, makes a nice improvement

Got anymore photos of your car as the mods you have done sound really interesting

Especially the CF interior and pedal set. Everything really!

That looks great, would be good to see some more pictures from a distance on your car to get an overall look. I like the M sticker as well, did he supply that as well?

This looks great! This is something I look to do after wheels. It's just really expensive. I thought the blue would look good on the huge 550i calipers and match the silver paint really well
