CIC to NBT retrofit

Hi,

Does someone has the experience of retrofitting NBT on an old F10 (pre-2012 model), i.e. CIC type? That is, to install NBT on a CIC based car.

I plan to get an used ZGW02 (non CIC type) to replace the existing ZGW and connect extra CAN signal wire. What else?

Do I need to to update the firmware of all exiting ECUs in car?? This is very critical since I don't have the large 12V charging for flashing ECUs.

Thanks!
