F11 Water in rear footwell

I found the left hand rear footwell absolutely sopping wet this morning when hoovering out the car. All windows were shut overnight, as well as the Panoramic sunroof, so where has the water come from?

Are there any drainage channels I need to check to see if blocked, or is there a known issue with the Panoramic sunroof?

All advice gratefully received

Just noticed that the carpet in that footwell is buckled as well, looks like it's been getting wet for a while.......

I can't help with you query but I noticed the exact same in my F10 but only on the day it was being swapped for my new one so I never got to investigate it.

Traditionally this is caused by faulty door seals. It shouldn't happen in such a modern BMW though!

I too have the same problem with my 2012 F11 520d.

Took it to BMW who said it was the membrane, they replaced the membrane and water tested the car. Phone me and told me all sorted.

This is how I found the car on collection

Worse than when I noticed the problem and thats after I stripped and dried the entire interior.

Typically a door membrane, look for damp/condensation across the door sill, one of the first signs there is an issue. Often you can feel the damp (even see it) coming out from behind the lower edge of the door card. Rear foot well damp can sometimes be related to a front door, so don't exclude either door from investigation.

I've read a lot about leaking sunroofs, try googling "BMW sunroof leaking F11". I'd give you a link but there are pages of them.
