Installing Dinan Air to Water intercooler upgrade, any concerns?

I will be installing a new Dinan Air to Water intercooler upgrade on my 2011 550iX. Seeing that this motor is about 4 years old and has about 44k miles on it. are there any concerns I might need to be cognoscent of prior to this upgrade. It will be a stand alone mod for a while I find that this motor runs quite hot and wanted to take the stress level down before adding more power.

My suggestion would be to print out the directions and do a walk through of all the areas before attemtping.

Instructions..

I have a set just sitting here, waiting to save up for the tune and jump straight to stage 5.

Got a set myself and deciding to have them put on or do them myself. Thinking with CPO, it might hold more water if I have a Dinan approved dealer put them on.

Waiting to get a hold of Dinan intake first.

Thanks guys. Mike, I also have not purchased the intake yet. I'm just concerned about the price/value ratio of that part. It is not cheap (then again, neither was the larger intercooler)..... but it is really necessary to do that in order to use the stage three software.

I put in the Intercoolers and Intake last weekend. Have some pics and tips on a thread in the engine section. Posted the BMW TIS supplemental instructions that Dinan does not provide as well. Hit me up if you need advice.

I would recommend installing 90c thermostat. My 550 runs a lot better and I’m not worried about coolant hoses anymore. I had to replace all of them on the top of the motor.

I've got the full signature 2 DINAN package on my 2015 550i. My recommendation would be to let your dealer install it...and every DINAN part you get. If something should ever go wrong it's not your problem but theirs. So you pay more up front, or you can pay a LOT more later should something go wrong.

But at least in my case that's why I went with full DINAN and a dealer install. Security in knowing that if something should happen...it's 100% covered.

Sure the car could go marginally faster with different tunes, exhaust, CAI's, etc...but the minute you put an aftermarket one on you say goodbye to any warranty work. Now if your car is out of warranty and you're going to have to pay if something happens anyway...just go with Anything non-DINAN for 1/3 of the price.

I'm just not about to possibly blow up an already unreliable engine over a few grand.
