Which SA was this? we need to spread this news out and avoid that dealership as well.
He thought i was a moron that knows nothing about the car, when he smelled i know what im talking about his attitude changed because i questioned his Lies.

Just stay away from Prestige* BMW in NJ i can't disclose the SA name because his a friend of a friend. But that dealer will deny everything even if you have after market exhaust.

She said that the guy pressured her to do all the services and then blamed her for requesting them.

Oil/Filter is from BMW only every 3-4 Miles i always give my WIN for the purchase. Sparks are also OEM that BMW relabels and up-charges.
My battery dying which is a known issue with out cars was also denied for warranty replacement.

I was also told by a few people that work at that dealer that SA openly called me a dick and told people to give me hard time. Because i hung up on him after he told me "he will deny me any work and throw my chopped up car on the side street".
I would be venting that to either the GM, BMW Corp, or both. Kindly ask the General Manager to arrange a meeting with you, the service advisor, the service manager, and then confront him about that stuff while letting him know a couple of his employees witnessed it and you would be happy to point them out for statements.

I have a feeling they took advantage of his wife, but knowing the SA cant un-fuck himself, he tried to push badblack around. I have a bunch of women that pretty much only use me for mechanical, sales and/or gun experience so I often get the "this guy said I need..." and tell me whatever story he told them to see if hes full of it or not. At least he didnt end up with the "Royal Flush" as most dealers call it, where you leave with $1400 in fluid exchanges that either you didnt need, werent required per the manufacturer, or end up causing more problems down the line! Fear is an easy tool to use against those that dont know any better, and this SA got called out.

Not true, in fact ive seen multiple warranties canceled by various manufacturers for using cheaper "off brand" filters, and the filters causing the failure. The "Proper" oil filter is left up to BMW to decide, not anyone else, so its smart to error on the side of caution. With that in mind, if you insist on doing your own oil changes (which I have nothing against), at least purchase a OE BMW filter and take it with your oil to wherever its changed. Not all filters are created equally, and while YOU PERSONALLY may be using a product equal to or better than BMW OE, most other shops buy the cheapest, or bulk branded oil filters.
Not sure how you inferred from my post that I was advocating using a non oem oil filter but that's not what I said or meant.

Also, using a proper non oem filter (like mahle or Mann, both of which are oem suppliers) should not cause any issues.

I've used cheap oil filters in my Ford Explorer for the last 6 years and I never changed the oil when it was due ( sometimes 12k miles between oil changes ) and I NEVER had a problem with the engine, no smoking, no metal in oil and it always passes smog. That whole CHEAP oil filter mumbo jumbo is bullshit, if your engine has metal shavings its not from the oil filter, you have other problems and filtering them out isn't going to fix shit. Yes the filter will clean out the tiny metal particals from normal wear but any filter will do that during the reccomended oil change interval. I use a WIX filter in my 550 and mobile 1 0-w40 euro spec and if it blows this piece of shit BMW engine I'll burn this mother trucker in the desert and collect my just in case shit happens insurance money.

You are correct, my apologies as I had assumed you were just taking it somewhere or using something off the shelf from Walmart/Oriellys etc.

I wont debate that even cheap filters can clean small particles...

However, have you ever seen the inside guts of a filter sucked through the element and spit into the engine, blocking oil passages and seizing the engine? I have... multiple times. Ive also seen many high dollar oil systems fail on vehicles, specifically diesels, due to pressure variances they cause, or the inability to hold up to high pressures that some newer vehicles have.

Don't always assume manufacturers are worried about filtering ability when they say don't do it.

The good thing about the oil filter in our car is we can see how the filter media looks before and after the oil change since the filter isn't encased in a metal can. I always inspect my filter really good before installing it to check for defects or damage from the supplier, and after the oil change I tear it open and look in the pleates for big metal particles especially since I've had the CCP. I changed my oil 2k miles after the CCP to get rid of anything left behind from Bmw grease monkeys, I didn't find anything but it was for my piece of mind.
