ActiveHybrid 5 Drive from BMW Welt in Munich to Berchtesgaden and Steyr
Granted, this was in the "loaner" AH5 temporarily supplied to us but it was a great drive nonetheless.

I'm a bit surprised by the fuel economy mentioned in the article at only 26 MPG. My average over 3300 miles is 33.4 MPG and it's pretty good on longer journeys - best tank so far has been 41 MPG. The drawback is it's not a diesel, so it doesn't quite have diesel economy. However, the big plus is... it's not a diesel. It's a silky smooth punchy petrol engine with razor sharp throttle response, peak torque from only 1200 RPM, zero throttle lag, it's refined even when cold, and throughout the whole rev range, and even so, it's not too far off real world economy for comparable performance diesels (i.e. 535d, and not E350 Bluetec mentioned in the article, which is a second slower to 62mph).
