IIRC you can change the tilt quite easily. Move mirror selector to driver position and put car in reverse to activate the tilt. Then, when the mirror has fully tilted, switch the selector to the passenger side mirror and adjust the mirror angle upward until desired level, then switch it back to the driver side mirror and it should hold that memory the next time you put the vehicle in reverse.
I didn't drive mine to work today or I'd go out and try it to make sure.

For us in NA that is deactivated by default, but it can be coded to enable it. And if you have comfort access you can also code to fold them when you long touch the door handle.

On my 520D F10 2016 no matter what position the mirror adjust switch is in, when I put the car in reverse the mirror doesn’t tilt down. Seems this feature is missing on mine, is this a hardware feature or something that can be enabled/coded?

I know the dip-angle is codable, so maybe you can use that coding?

It is not a standard feature. If you do not have electronic dimming and controllable mirrors then you are missing hardware.
