Business Nav

Just out of interest, what features do you get with the standard navigation system?

When you say 'features'?

It's a pretty standard nav package similar to those I've had in my previous Range Rover and Audi's.

You can input destinations by town, road or postcode. It'll highlight where there is traffic and you can choose to avoid it if you want.
It will store destinations and remember a list of where you have been. You an zoom in/out so you can get a better idea where you are.

You then get various car setup options, eg home/ unlock lights timer.

It comes with FM and DAB, the DAB is the best I've had in a car yet.

There are some basic connected drive features, but in all honesty, I've not found myself wanting for more.

I think the only thing I miss from my RRS is Bluetooth streaming of music, but I have 'Y' cable in the centre console and I connect it when I get in and it great. (Make sure you get the dealer to give you a 'Y' cable )

Can't think of much else.

Don't think so, that's what the speedo's for

I have the MFD so the digital speed is shown in various modes.

I just read a thread on Pistonheads which basically said that Business nav won't play iPods, surely that isn't true?

Business, in my experience, is so useless I now never use it but use a $40 app from the Google play store instead which betters Business nav in every way. It uses TomTom mapping, and has speed cameras and limits, vehicle speed, can be used as a HUD, free map updates 4 times per year, and, if you subscribe, TOMTOM based traffic alerts.

Business will play iPhone over Bluetooth in basic sort of way and will play every mp3 player I've tried over the aux socket. Its much more fussy over Bluetooth with android but works fine over USB, but control is via the mp3 player, not idrive

Also, the business nav does not update traffic issues as often as the professional media pack(every 3 mins).
