I have to say I'm not impressed with the manual; I realise the cars are very complex things to explain, but I think they could do better.

Really? I've always thought BMW manuals to be very good. The manual built into the iDrive with the video explanations is good too.

Agreed, my Wife knows more about the functionality than I do and that's because she was able to use the idiot proof iDrive manual.

No, did you need folding mirrors for this function? Not that I miss it.

Totally agree!

Most pleased to find this works. I wonder what else I have missed....

One a dealer told me... The gearbox learns your style of driving, and after a steady run it adjusts it's changes to suit. It can feel a but old style slushmatic. Anyway, turn on the ignition, but don't start up. Keep the accelerator pressed to the floor for 10+seconds and turn off... That should reset the gearbox to normal, seems to work.

Ordered as part of saftey mirrors

I ordered the safety mirrors for just this reason. Its a wide car so turning them in obviously stops idiots bashing them with their doors, or walking past and clipping them.

My car is pre-LCI.... the safety mirrors dim the side and rear view with a black LCD overlay to prevent glare etc... and they come with fold-in feature... I don't think all F10's, even Post LCI have folding mirrors by default, its generally always a feature couple with another (but I stand to be corrected)
