Wheel/Tire Size Question

If I get a set of wheels size:

F: 8.5x20
R: 9.5x20

what are my options for tire sizes? If anything I would like more rubber to help with the potholes in NYC.

On those, I'd go with the oem size 245/35/20 + 275/30/20.

If you need more protection on the rims, you can go 255/35/20 for front and 285/30/20 for rear.

This will fit with the car without rubbing and having to roll the fenders?

Yes, if the offset is right.
