Why aren't you using your MHD or BM3 to program the ECU so you don't throw a CEL? That's the fix. If forces your ECU into ready mode as well and so if they do plug into your OBDII they will still pass you. If they sniff you, however, nothing around that.

MHD by default doesn't put cat check to ready... It completely removes the check, which than shows up as not ready when you go for emission... To turn on the check you have to select "OEM/Catted DP" option, but than you will get the CEL. I would email MHD directly and check with them if their OTS maps put the cat check to always ready mode.

I thought they auto-set it to ready and blocked the CEL. I remember reading that somewhere after I spent 200 bucks and a ton time setting up a 02 sensor simulator that tricked my ECU into seeing the correct voltage input so I could get through emissions.

Quick question guys
So lets say I get the VRSF Downpipe installed on my 2012 535 and have the stage II MHD tune Can I pass emissions in Illinois if I do the following 1)Flash car back to stock 2) Have the catted DP option checked 3) Do the drive cycle? In Illinois: Remember, vehicles are rejected when more than two (2) non-continuous readiness monitors are “not ready” for 1996 to 2000 model year vehicles, or when more than one (1) non-continuous readiness monitor is “not ready” for 2001 and newer model year vehicles. Additionally, the catalyst monitor must be “ready” at the time of any retest after a vehicle failed an initial test for any catalyst code. So looks like we can have one non continuous monitor show up as "not ready". Do I even have to flash MHD back to stock? |
