535d Gas tank neck filler metal flap

Has anyone encountered their gas tank neck filler metal flap stack? I can’t fill my gas tank with petrol as the metal flap won’t open when I put the petrol nozzle in. I brought my car to the BMW dealer and told me that they had to order the defective part in Germany. It will take a couple of weeks. I have to pay a $200 deductible. The remaining $1K will be handled by the warranty. The dealer provided me with a 2-series loaner. 🥲🥲🥲

Why do you want to put petrol in a 535D???

The reason the flap isn’t opening is because the size of the diesel nozzle is different to avoid people filling it with petrol by mistake.

I stand corrected. What I mean by petrol is diesel. My apologies

go to a different gas station. It happened to me once and that was it(wrong size nozzle).
I also orderd the emergency filler funnel, just incase I was on a road trip and was in need.

I visited 2 petrol stations and attempted to use 2 diesel pumps from each station. The metal flap was still not opening. Anyhow, brought it to the dealer and confirmed that the flap was defective. They ordered the part from Germany. Will take a couple of weeks to arrive. 😀😀🥲🥲

Can I ask where you bought the filler funnel? Thanks in advance.
