Please help me convert to quad exhausts tips on my 528! Desperate!

Hey guys so as the title says I recently put an msport bumper with quad exhaust diffuser on my 528 and I'm desperate to get the quad exhausts on. Problem is I don't know where to start. Right now there is just an empty hole on the right side of the diffuser and it looks horrendous. Looking on eBay shows many different sizes and different inlet sizes to choose from, how do I know which to order? I stopped by a muffler shop who took a quick look without taking anything off or putting the car on a lift and he said for the left side I would need two single exhaust with a 2" inlet and on the right side he said one dual exhaust with a 2.25" inlet. What size exhaust tips could I fit in the diffuser to make it look more aggressive? 3"? Also, i don't want anything fancy I just want the exhaust pipes on the right side to throw smoke out as well and it just some dummy pipes. If the exhaust shop just bends some pipe and put it on the right side and connects it to the factory exhaust on the left side are there any negative side effects??? Sorry for the long rant but I appreciate any input I'm totally lost when it comes to modifying the exhausts

if you're looking for a true exhaust for your 528 you could go with a Remus. i don't know of any other's who make dummy tips for the right side without it being custom. if you're on a budget than buy all means have an exhaust shop fabricate something for you. there shouldn't be any side effects that i'm aware of. Check with Mike from XPH in the Commercial place

Yeah came across the Remus but don't want to spend so much. So my option is to have a shop do some custom work. He said I'm looking at $200-300 for the work is that good? I would be supplying the exhaust tips to him

I converted my wife's last car (528i) to quads. I did a ton of research and here are your choices:
1. Buy Remus, which is what I ultimately did because it's made to fit perfectly with a 528 and it sounds nice.....IMO, worth every penny and best choice.
2. Buy Magnaflow dual tip, which is made to fit perfectly on a 528i also. This was the first one I bought and it's a great system, full cat-back with 3" pipes all the way. I bought a pair of Magnaflow tips that exactly match the exhaust system and had a shop weld a bracket so we had the quad look but the right side was fake, no smoke. Ended up selling because it was too loud for the wife.
3. Buy a set of Megan or any other quad/2 muffler system made for a 535i and do the diy in one of the older threads. The guy removed the right bucket, sealed it up and had a shop weld a 'Y' (or resonator in his case) and run 2 pipes into the dual mufflers. Heat shields and mounting points are all there on your 528i, just the bucket is in the way.
4. Do muffler delete and have a pipe running to right side. This won't affect much, except maybe a little loss in the low end.

You cannot just mount larger tips onto your stock 528i muffler because the existing tips are too close together. Hope that helps.

+1 I have a Remus exhaust & I thoroughly love it. Looks great, nice sound expansion & not a lot of drone.
