Yes, another wheel thread

I'm trying to decide between Vossen CV2's, Forgestar F14's, and iForged (milano, or similar). They range in prices, with the Forgestar's being the cheapest, Vossen's being mid-grade, and the iForged at the top of my budget. Has anyone had any bad or good experiences with any of these that they'd be willing to share?

I really wanted to stay under $750 a wheel for 20" wheels (or mayyyybe splurge on a forged wheel), but find something of good quality.

Can't comment on Vossens but Forgestars (not forged despite the name) and iforged wheels bend from what i heard about them.

My recommendation based on my many years of modifying cars.....spend alittle more the first time around getting higher quality wheels. It will save you money in the long run since they are usually stronger and retain better value if you ever sell them.

I just got my Forgestars last week and they are rotary forged. One negative is that they took 3 months to deliver! They are now hubcentric which is nice not having to deal with hub rings.

You would think a forged wheel (iForged) wheel would be less prone to bending than a cast variety (or whatever Forgestars are). Given the potholes I can see in OH, that's a consideration!

Good to know on the hubcentric rings, I'd have been pissed if they weren't! The delay isn't a big deal to me, we get snow, so these will be for 3 season tires, and I'll leave the M-sport 19's on for Winter.

The thing is with a lot of "forged" wheel companies like iforged, dpe etc.... only the wheel face is forged but the part that bends isn't (the lip and barrel). Even then you hear how some of those "forged" wheels suffer catastrophic failures where the spokes crack in half.

Also keep in mind that the F10 is a heavy car and the wheels need to be able to handle that extra load.

Stick with the big names and you will be safe.

I went with the BBS CHR's $600.00 a piece, but if I was going to spend more than that, I would of gone HRE's, make sure the company you are buying from is bonded, I came to the conclusion if Tire rack or Discount Tire wont buy from non bonded manufacturers, thats a pretty good sign I shouldnt either.

I had the iforged flux wheels on my e46 for about 5 years. Only bent them once and it was a pretty hard hit on a pothole. I loved the wheels. Im actually considering the iforged milano wheel myself.

Sounds like the F14's are frowned upon by the general community then?

I wouldn't say that. Most prefer forged wheels as they are stronger per pound. That is not to say that forged wheels have a higher load rating than cast wheels however. Many times forged wheels are lighter than cast wheels, but the load ratings can be similar.
