Great job. If this type of threatening behavior by JSpira and BMW continue, let's just start another forum and post the info there. These guys can kiss their forums goodbye!

All of the Euro invoice prices for options are 9% less than msrp, rounded to the nearest $5.

The ED MSRP Base is 7% less than US MSRP Base. ED Invoice Base is 8% less than ED MSRP Base. And ED Invoice Options are 9% less than MSRP Options (Options prices are same for ED and US).
ED Invoice Base is 14.5% less than US MSRP Base.

PHarding, don't let the tyrants stop you. But for the love of God, can anyone answer me this: If I choose ED, and the MSRP is 67k; will I be able to bargain from the 67k, and still receive the ED discount? so in other word, 67k-4k off=63k-10% off (assuming it is 10%)=56700k. can anyone email me the invoice too? eatrach@verizon.net . thank you- Eli |

No offense I'm sure there is some merit to this but in what other industry do you have access to the wholesale cost of a product and the right to determine what profit the seller makes? When someone buys a house from you how would you feel if they offered 1000 over what you paid 5 years ago? Insulted? A lot of people buy BMW because they are keenly aware of it's competitive edge in high line brands however, more and more people want it at invoice or $500 over and excuse me but it's no better then whoring out the brand. We aren't Honda or Toyota, we aren't an A to B car that you have to buy you want to buy a BMW. With anything you want to buy you should be comfortable with whatever profit the dealer can make and besides that BMW has set it at 7%, think about your industry or profession do you make more then 7% profit? Are you able to save 7% monthly? What if you went your entire life only making enough to cover expenses, where would you be when you weren't bringing in a paycheck? That's the same thing that happens to these small dealerships that have to sell at invoice all the time to make a number. I have so many customers write a check without once asking for a discount(doesn't mean I didn't give them one for being a great customer) and yet I get someone off the street shopping me with 5 other lots to get the "most" fair price, you mean go with the dealership willing to make the least profit if any. That same customers demands more attention and service and is typically more of a pain then the customer that paid MSRP. It's a sad day when people know enough info to know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Well, you must be a special sales person. The day I can go into a dealership or pretty much any other place with commissioned sales people and have that sales person actually be able to teach me something more about what I am inquiring to purchase; particularly being able to know their product completely and discuss how it relates to other brands, I will happily be willing to pay more and add to their "profit" margin. However, this has not yet happened. I usually ask a few questions at first and quickly realize the individual hardly knows their product, particularly the little nuances that us enthusiasts demand to know. So, I have an entirely different view! I am using these invoice pricing sheets to negotiate the lowest price possible so that I can, in effect, pay myself for all the work I have done in researching and pouring over every detail with the help of others in forums like these. So, until I meet a car sales person that has chosen to know their product and competitor's products inside out (for better or worse on either part) you are going to have to rely on those donkeys that come in pay msrp. Stupid begets stupid, so if you can avoid people like us and make your sales numbers then fill your boots! However, I trust the majority of BMW buyers know a thing or two about the vehicle they are buying. It's a shame that (in my extensive experience) the sales people are not on the same level. BMW needs to either better train their sales staff or restructure commissions such that it emplores these people to want to learn about what they are hawking. There's my 2 cents.

And BTW I hope you don't have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod you bought new, have ever paid for movie theater popcorn, bought a shirt that wasn't on sale, really paid for anything that wasn't on sale because you probally paid higher then the 6 to 7% profit BMW builds into it's cars. You'd also be a donkey. |

I am one of the donkeys that bought an iPhone and all the other stuff you mentioned but I'm also a BMW Client Advisor so I guess I'm a two time loser. There is a letter in the current issue of Automotive News about the "grim future" for professional sales people in the car business that in my opionion is right on. Our "clients" expect that we should drive them on multiple demo drives, educate them about the specifications and prices of the vehicles and then ask for our "best price" in writing which they take and shop around the Internet to buy for another $100 less. They expect "department store service but a dollar store price." This is sad but true and then after you make a miserly mini-commission on the few hundred over Invoice price, if they in fact buy, they trash you on the Survey. So now they expect a mechanical engineer that knows not only all the laws, forms and policies to avoid being sued, fined or imprisoned but knows all the details of every model you sell and all the competition's as well. Yeah, for $250 per copy I'm happy to work 6 days a week averaging 11 hours a day. I won't have any of my retirement fund left that is subsidizing my family's existence in another 6 months. So Mr. & Ms. Customer, you'll be dealing with the quality and training of people that are not making any more than someone flipping burgers. You will indeed need to know everything about the cars because the guys and gals taking off the aprons to sell cars won't know much more than; "do you want fries with that?"

I'm sure if the same type of perception shifted to the industries these buyers were in they'd be on their respective forums upset about the new level of pay(or lack there of) they were recieving. I recently had a customer who has worked with a colleague of mine extensively, gathering numbers, test driving cars, etc. He came in a week later and when asked if he had worked with anyone said "not recently"(like a week after being with the first CA), we test drove a number of cars, etc... He called the original CA a few days later and came in to do it this all over agian then get some numbers and recieved a 3% discount on an X5, a vehicle that BMW NA is now shipping 18x the allocation the China because there is no market support over there(people pay MSRP, almost twice that because of taxes). He emailed the CA two days later with several qoutes from smaller dealerships at 1000 dollars over cost, the CA asked if the professionalism and service both himself and me(I won't get anything from it) was worth a premium and he responded no. This customer is extremely analytical and required an excessive amount of time and energy and didn't see any value in the time he had taken up, divide the measely flat the CA will recieve by the 6 plus hours he worked with this guy and he could have done better managing a Walmart, maybe even stocking shelves there.

you have no idea how bmw and other dealerships fuck people every single day and they could care less...for every good sales person there are 20 that will screw anybody who may not know much about pricing... with my last 2 leases and dealing with sales people, and them KNOWING I know all ins and outs, they still tried to screw me pretty bad. Now image what kind of deals they give to folks that just go into the dealership without knowing anything. Not only dealer makes money from financing/leasing they also make money from warranty repair as well and here in Canada, 5 series is at 6.9% lease, even in this bad economy! they know people will still buy (i know it's business, but common)... and about your examples, you can't compare iphone which 90% of people get for like $199 with contract to a 60-70,000$ item, you can easily find out most wholesale prices as well, you don't know them because it's irrelevant to you and you are not signed up on their forums, you wouldn't know about bmw invoices if you weren't on this forum... and stop crying about CA's commission, if it's that bad go look for another job

If it's so bad in Canada then why don't you just leave, eh? Oh and by the way leave your beer guzzling and hockey drivel there. As long as you are wildly generalizing that negative stereotypes are by far the majority (20 crooked jerks to 1 honest hard working informed professional sales person in the car business) then I thought I'd toss a few at you, hoser. It's your kind of know-it-all, closed mindedness that results in bigotry towards more than auto sales people. Have a nice life of paranoia believing everyone is out to "screw you". Oh, the number one reason I don't leave the low pay is I'm a prisoner of the Health Insurance Industry and their crazy high rates that are partially offset by my employment which takes 6 months of no coverage to start where I work and in some places it's a year of gambling your family's health or your wealth. Oh, that's right, you wouldn't understand, you live in a socialist paradise where health care is free even if you aren't working.
