F10 - E60 Type Transmission Bump Issue

Like many of you, prior to my 2012 F10 I owned an E60. As some my recall there was an issue termed "Transmission Bump"… this is when you would come to a stop and the car would jerk into 1st gear like someone had bumped you from behind.

Lo and behold my F10 started having a similar issue recently. There are only 20500 miles on the clock. Anyone else experience this "Transmission Bump" type jerk when stopping?

TIA,

CT

Same here...

I've found it gets better if I reset the the transmission, but only for a week or so before it starts again. (Same as the old E60 I had before)

I'm experiencing this issue now. How did you guys resolve this? My car is almost out of warranty.

Take it to the dealer before it's out of warranty. When I did, the SA had the shop foreman come for a drive with me to demonstrate what I was talking about - how when pulling away from a stop (near stop), you'd need to apply a lot more gas pedal than other cars before it'd get moving, and it was hard to drive smoothly. Seemed like it was downshifting to first, then quickly back up to 2nd. The mech was really cool, and he took out two other new 5's for us to compare driving to, one was a 550 (nice!). (I think he liked getting out of the shop for a bit).

He agreed that the new cars were better, and they applied a software update to the EGS (transmission logic control) and it's improved.

Thanks for the advice! My car is no longer exhibiting those symptoms, but I will definitely have the issue documented.
