Exclamation Engine shut down after 2 sec. start up?

Hello fellas...I'm back finally, so I just got back this morning and immediately try to start my car up. Well, it crank up and start up right away no problem, so I figure I'll leave it running a bit to charge up the battery right, so in about 10-12 min. into idle-ling, the engine starting to choke, i did see some white smoke and then the engine shut down. When I check the lcd screen, I did see it say something like engine malfunction but when I look in to the system check, it said all system "ok". I try to restart the car several times but the engine did the same thing, it choked a few time like it want to start up but then die out. What could cause this issue? Anyone have any idea?

While the car parked in the garage for the past 1.5 month, my nephew did make a few start and even take it out for a drive (let just hope he did a normal drive) but I can't seem to figure out what's the issue here...

Do have a way to read codes? That would tell you what's going on.

This is what a lot of bmw enthusiast use, including myself http://www.mycarly.com/product/bmw-app/

You have to have the wifi odbii dongle.

What said it, the car? Or you have the code? Also, autozone will read your codes for free.

Dont know what's wrong but they say you shouldn't let the car idle like that. Start and drive off. Once it was about 5 degrees outside overnight and my ML had a hard time staring up. It was sputtering and RPMs were like 400 at idle, and then it died after kicking out thick white smoke. I started it back up and took it for a drive. It was anemic at first, but slowly came back to life. May have been frozen fuel lines of something.

Anyway, just start you the car and drive next time

You have 2 choices. Get a wifi or Bluetooth OBDII dongle and an app or tow truck to dealership. Option one may reveal just a weak battery that you could change yourself.

Why did the fuse blow in the first place? They don't just blow without an underlying cause.....

Likely "investigation, replacement and verification" time charged, good luck disputing something like this. Not saying it's not too high, don't get me wrong.

And, ouch OP, $180 for the fuse.

My dealer charges around that ($150 or $180, I don't remember) per hour.
