Loaner cars

Hey guys I\'m a new bimmer owner and I was wondering how lenient dealers are in giving loaner cars when you go for a service. Also, any dealers to recommend for service in the NYC area?

In Toronto, Canada. Certain dealers will give out Honda, Mazda, Toyota, domestic too for $20 a day ...if you want BMW (3 series), it's going to cost you $40 a day + taxes.

Only a few dealers will not charge you at all, it's all up to the dealer.

Dealer loaner policy 100% up to dealer. Nothing to do with marque at all.

Always get a loaner and always a BMW. Usually a F10, but sometimes a 300 series or a SUV.

Always get a loaner if I ask for one, and always a BMW.

I request loaner when making an appointment and always get a BMW. Last time was a loaded 535i that even had the rear seat DVD monitors. It was a little difficult explaining to my 3 and 4 year old that I had to take the car back....

That's unbelievable. Hope Endras BMW in Ajax does not give out Hondas. I haven't seen any on their lot.

Getting a loaner car seems be sort of an odd event. I had a friend whose X3 broke down two weeks after purchase; she calls the dealership and they say they won't have any loaner cars for a week and half. She then calls a friend who is a manager of another dealer under the same company. Two hours later the BMW dealership calls back and "magically" has a loaner available for her.

Same thing happened to me as well [at a different dealership]. I had a scheduled service appointment; when I arrived at the dealership the receptionist told me that there wasn't a loaner car for me. I told her that that was not possible because I needed a loaner. She then talks to somebody and "magically" a guy pulls around in a loaner car.

The whole loaner car experience seems odd to me. Just my two cents.
