I've had a built-in radar detector and laser jammer system for about 3 years now. If anyone has any questions please let me know!

My Setup:
Laser Jammer:
Laser Interceptor Quad BMW Edition (Vertical Jammers to fit in kidney grills).
Radar Detector:
Beltronics STI-R+

Custom Touches:
My shop and I purchased infrared transmitting black plastic to make "covers" or "pods" to help conceal the laser jammer heads. It helps with the gloss black accents and really adds to the stealth install accomplished by my installer (High Fidelity Autosports). We also integrated the radar screen into the dash.

Why I chose my setup:
At the time, ALP was not out and Laser Interceptor was dominating the market. I am completely happy with my purchase and haven't updated my unit in quite sometime. My shop still chooses laser interceptor as ALP has a more bulky install.

For the jammer, The Beltronics STI-R+ was, and still is the best radar detector on the market. Warns you of speed traps, speed cameras, blocks out false alerts, has GPS, is un-detectable to radar detector detectors (yes I said that right, police have detectors that let them know if a vehicle has a radar detector running), and many more features.

My take on the Valentine One:
I bought one as a detector for my rentals for road trips and when I drive friend's cars. It is quite annoying at the many false alerts and reading the cluster to see which band is running is hard to make out. You learn it off sound after a few days but it is really annoying. The direction of the signal is cool, but I'd rather have distance and range and clear display. I know there are ways to weed out the false alerts on a V1, but never cared to figure it out and sold it shortly after.

There was a similar thread not too long ago so I'll just copy and paste what I wrote with pictures...

My shop and I figured out a few custom touches to make the radar/jammer combo seem even less noticeable. I had my shop near me do the install in Connecticut (High Fidelity Autosport). They fix all the bad dealer installed kits (9500ci) as the dealer's never seem to aim the laser jammers properly. They re-aim and fix the installs for all the high end cars dealerships in our area.

Here's my install:

Front LI Jammer Heads:

Front Beltronics Radar Detector sensor mounted behind center mesh grill:

For the rear jammer heads, I didn't like how the jammer sensors would be exposed if we just glued them on. So my shop ordered special infrared transmitting plastic to allow the jammer heads to be hidden, but still fully functional. I haven't had any issues with the pods or covers, and it's been a full year or so with them (knock on wood). We'll be doing the same with the front jammers in the kidneys to give the front end a cleaner look.

Close up of rear "pod" or cover.

Both pods from a little further away:

With updated Front LCI Grills and covers:

And the main control unit was mounted in the dash for easy viewing, and the buttons for the unit are mounted in the ash tray (no picture, but nothing special).

I think the fastest moving object within that net reads the speed and the officer can then look and see who's going fastest.

The Valentine One has a Laser Detector but of it's beeping you've already been scanned.
Exactly, and you're getting a ticket.

Good choice, sign up for their email, they have $100 coupons from time to time!

You have to be very quick as a repeated blank screen alerts the LEO that a jammer is being used.
Exactly the process to follow. The first time they'll think they got a bad angle on the car. Certain colors and finishes and angles of a vehicle can send an error or blank screen. The idea is to slow down to speed limit, and turn the unit off, so if they do scan you again they get a reading.

Laser Jammer: ALP, 3 front heads and 2 rear. From what I hear rear LEO laser shots are very common in GA.

Radar detector: V1, Redline, 9500IX, and a few others. Max 360 is getting some mixed indy reviews.
The very best setup for your car:
Laser Jammer: same.

Radar detector: Stinger ($$$$$)
Always run Waze app.
I'd go with Beltronics STI-R+, but the new stinger looks amazing!!

The laser jammer has it's own speaker, and so will the built in radar system. And yes, they do both go off when laser hits you. Quite the shock to your system.
