I am getting a 2014 LCI 535d doing Euro Delivery on July 24. I like the LCI enhancements however they are minor.

Note to BMW: Please quit doing these pointless annual "plastic surgeries" on your cars. They don't serve a purpose, and waste company resources that could be focused on actual product improvement. American car manufacturers did this for years, and it was pointless. We buy your cars specifically because they DON'T change grill/tail each year. End of rant.

This isnt an annual plastic surgery its the mid life refresh, the F10/11 will be end of life in three or four years time.

I, on the other hand, think the F10 is gorgeous, a clear improvement over the E60 (which I've driven one of since 2007), and the best looking car in its class.

The f10 not for everyone, but waiting 4 years for the new model is quite a long time.
F10 Msport only way to go!
When I was in market for 3 series, I waited for the LCI..Even though I got the e92, The pre-lci e90 looked outdated compared the the LCI e90.

So the F10 will now have 8 different possible grill inserts?

Pre-facelift base, 550, performance and M5.
Post-facelift base, 550, performance and M5.

I'm assuming pre and post will not be interchangeable, but time will tell.

I disagree. BMW does this because it improves sales of a model that may otherwise be seen as aging. If there weren't a business case, they wouldn't do it.

They appear to be the same shape to me, just different inserts (with less slats) throwing off the look. Though the magazines keep saying the grille will be smaller. We'll find out soon enough.

Many questions why the 5er does not have similar intensive surgery as the E-Klasse?

Answer?
It did not need it, sales are strong and the car still looks current , compare pre-facelift E-Klasse and update to see how dated the car looked.
Updates to the 5er visually are minor , the noticeable difference is underneath.
