More money and typically it is only available on a car ordered from the factory.

I suspect many F10 550i owners will switch out the 332 wheels for the 535's 331..........much better looking IMO.

This BMW nickel and dime shit is getting idiotic... no iPod/USB adapter is standard even in the 550i.

nice find! it is very dissapointing to see no standard USB port. Does the Idrive have a HDD? And if it does, shouldnt it have a usb port to transfer music from a thumb drive?

Yes it does, but it cannot control an iPod or any MP3 player. It is only to download music into the HDD.

Premium Package II seems more like a Technology Package. There are a few items in there I would never use. Seems like there should be another set options considered for the Premium Package set (I &II). At this point all the options in Premium Package I should be standard for the 535 and 550 IMO.

Premium Package I options are standard on the 550. I like BMW's strategy of keeping the base price of the 535 reasonable and not driving it up with forced options. On that car IMO offering a Premium Package I makes sense. Plus BMW is offering some highly desirable options, like Comfort Access, as part of a package, and as a separate stand-alone option. The buyer chooses what is best for him or her. The simplicity of buying a BMW is evolving. It was simpler when you identified the BMW series, then the engine, then you just added the sport and premium packages. Things have gotten much complicated now with the plethora of sophisticated electronic technological options available for the F10.

It appears that in the US we are moving toward the German model, where every option is available separately, and you select options from a literal book of choices.

Thanks for positing the PDF...it is a confusing option list and opton system, but I have time to figure it out! I configured a car on the German and UK sites just to see what I like best for colors, wheels, etc, can't wait for the USA configurator to come online at the USA site!

Thanks for clarifying, but I still think Premium Package should be standard on most BMW's vehicles. . There are definitely a ton individual options, I like the new camera system being optional. I just hope its still cost effective for the options not be bundles, you ended paying more to get exactly what you want or being stuck with somethings you would never use to save a few thousand (rear shades lol).

Thanks, the guide is quite good for anyone in the market for a 5-series car - makes it fairly easy to put the car together.

Any idea what exactly "4NB 4-zone climate control" means? I would expect that there are already individual front and rear controls as in the E60 - so what would be new in 4NB?

Individual thermostats for the left and right side in the rear. See the attached photo:

Thats been BMWs business model. BMW makes profit on options not the base price.
