N63Intakes- These intakes use aluminum inlets for the maf, i question how the maf reading is correct, the inlets of the intakes are not 3" nor are they 3.5" equivalent. So how they are getting the flow reading to be correct is a mystery. Our system retains the stock maf sizing to not tamper with the maf reading. Our design has enlarged the entire system, sometimes equal to 4" of diameter. N63intakes are 3" all the way. We've also introduced form fitting and make sure everything is contoured to the chassis and within design constraints, not selling someone a simple 45 elbow with a maf port and off the shelf filter.

My engineering mind says that if we were able to pickup 25-35whp on the f10 m5 system which is much less restrictive, there's no reason to not expect something like that on the 550i system which is much more restrictive do to the design nature.

Its nice to see companies are starting to develop intakes for the n63/n63tu... BMS just got their hands on a 550i with the TU motor and will be developing an intake of their own which we can also use on our N63! Cool too because they have major manufacturing connections.

Hopefully they develop something like the F10 M5 design.

Development has been put on hold until the new G30 M550i arrives. He's going to check to see how similar the two intakes are and from there he might develop one for ours.

I would like to incorporate a new design with the supplemental Dinan I have installed. Also will be installing Alpina Turbos and M5 Downpipes so extra intake air would be great. Just received all 550 gaskets and seals for Turbo and DP install, but someone said the M5 DPs and Alpina turbos might require different gaskets.

Also been emailing the world to find someone that can TUNE a BMS stage 2 beta chip with a N63 motor running all the goodies i Have. Sheesh, NOT ONE PLACE Near NJ has experience tuning a BMS chip with Dinan performance products installed and then adding the Alpina and M5 DPs. This is basically the ONLY route to tune a Non TU motor and you would think someone would have the experience.

Wow! Good news! With Badblack's intakes and the impending release of BMS' intake, it's going to be great to see a n63/n63tu intake shootout! It's going to be awesome to see what RK brings to the table!

Last update was the BMS intake was no longer in production. They were running into issues with shadow lean codes

New to the thread... Curious how the air filters would fair being exposed to potential rain being so close to the grill. Seems like a big issue.

You guys are beating a Dead House. Read the last post /date. And BadBlack's Intakes is the product that produces and doesn't throw any codes. badblack550xi

not an issue unless you're submerged at which point stocks intakes would flood also.
