Finally EVC Meisterschaft's installed 535i
so FINALLY, FINALLY i got these damn things installed! it only took me 2 years and 3 months lol! drove to New York to pick these up from a fellow member Arc550 who at the time switched over to a M6 i believe.
if many of you rember they were painted black which basically was flaking off so i tried to get most of it off with paint stripper. here's the paint stripper eating away! and here's it is with most of it off picked up some carbon slip on covers as i didn't want the chrome tips! here i had them mocked up with the MSPORT rear bumper i also had sitting in storage for the last 2 years whom i picked up in New Jersey from fellow forum member Dan1416! off to the muffler shop! here it is mocked up! couple of things the muffler guy ran into was one i already knew the piping diameter is a lot larger than the 535's which i believe on a 535i is 2.50" and the 550i is 2.75". he did make a couple of tranducers which was not a big deal but the problem he ran into was the inner exhaust hanger was just too long! he cut off about 1.5" and rewelded a washer so it wouldn't slip out of the hanger. the other issue he ran into was the EVC QTP motor was hitting what looks like the spare wheel well mold? because of that he couldn't get the exhaust tips to line up center between the diffuser or couldn't get the tips to poke a bit past the diffuser not a big deal as it doesn't look too bad when you look at it. all lined up and good to go! gettin' welded up! and all finished! you can see how close the EVC QTP motors are! got the carbon tips on and fastened down with T-Bolt clamps! all taped up to paint the inner tips gloss black as i don't want the chrome to show and here are the Meister's all finished up! some closer shots of the clamps/covers here i modified the covers to actually be flush with the tips which i basically took a jig and cut around evenly than followed it up with some sand paper to make it all smooth again i still need to wire up the Wireless QTP remotes, modules and IWIRE since i didn't get these when i picked them up. install doesn't look too complicated. as far as how it sounds...pretty effing ridiculous! it sounds pretty deep and low and when you get on it she screams and has a nice rasp and an exotic tone to it. what's great...no DRONE! the wife thought it was going to be annoyingly loud but after hearing it she actually loves the sound of it. i will have to get some audio clips or a YouTube clip of the tone. tell me what you guys think?!

Looks great! Glad to see your car finally coming together, been following your threads for a while lol
I think it's just my OCD, but the left exhaust looks higher and canted compared to the right. Last edited by SLVSRFR; 07-22-2017 at 06:10 PM.. |

Hey I believe the guy you bought the exhaust from was from Montenegro (europe)? If so, I ended up buying a JB4 from him about 2 years ago as well as his Brother's 550ix. Nice guys. I am want to install the OEM M5 exhaust in my 550ix. I do remember than when I went to NJ to get the car they both came in a black 550ix all modded that was very loud, probably the exhaust that you ended up getting. |

It looks good considering your obstacles, But.......I would've cut the battery well to center the mufflers in your diffuser and to have them stick out as far as you wanted them too. It wouldnt have been hard but you would have needed to mock up your exhaust on the car beforehand to know they wouldnt fit without modification. So you needed to cut off your existing muffler at the axle and put on your msport bumper with the diffuser and check your muffler placement and Tip fitment. Thats what I did and mine didnt fit either, I drove around with no mufflers and no rear bumper or diffuser for 1 week while I figured it out. So when I say cut the battery well I mean you needed cut a clearence section out of the battery well and use some alumnium sheet metal to cover up the clearance notch and paint it with undercoating spray so it would look like it came that way. I know theres nothing in that section of the battery well on the inside the notch would inter-fear with, but I guess its done now. Still looks good thou' and were all still waiting to see the final product on them sweet 21's with a fat drop man!!
And it sounds good........ |

muffler guys said $125 to tig weld and extend them past the diffuser. i'll probably get it done next month
