Probably because oversized wheels with rubber band tires were much less common.

Egh; 20" wheels were as common in 2011 as today, from what I see on the road.

I get it though; we needed to go through the early phase of oversized wheels to get to today, where enough is enough.

Since they are made by Michelin, they will only cost $8,900 (with NO tires) for a set, lol! Good idea but prolly gonna be super ass expensive....
