Do I have an E60 or an F10?

I bought a 2010 BMW 528i a couple of weeks ago. I've always assumed it was an E60. But, on this website, it says 2010+ 5 Series are F10s.

F10 In the US it was 2011, elsewhere it was release 2010.

E60 front on left, F10 on right..

Headlights are the same as left. You have basic front bumper not MSport or M5, thats the difference in photo, was first one I found.

That is an E60 for sure.

+1.
This is what I was wondering too.

So does this mean BMW is departing from the normal 7-year chassis lifecycle?
F10 started in 2011 in the US; E39 was 1997-2003, and E60 was 2004-2010 (see the 7-year trend?), which means G30 should start in 2018---but according to this, it'll be MY2017.

F10 debuted in November 2009, press releases were also November 2009, cars were available in the UK spring 2010, (road tests January 2010).

From what I read the G30 is to be released at the Paris Motor Show in November 2016, Detroit Motor Show in January 2017. So pretty much the 7-year cycle.

This is still not the same 7-year cycle; if E39 started with MY97, E60 started with MY04, and whether F10 started in MY11, or MY10 (according to you); this still means BMW has departed from the usual in some form--whether that departure started in 2010 with an early F10, or whether it starts in 2017 with an early G30...still not consistent, either way you look at it.

Don't fully understand the way the US date the models, as we are different in Europe.

Over here it is more or less accepted as... E39; 1996 - 2003. E60; 2003 - 2010. F10; 2010 - 2017, G30; 2017 - 20xx.

If we get G30 models on UK roads in spring 2017, then that will be exactly 21 years from the first E39 models.

Oh okay. I think I see where the confusion and difference in terminology lies. You are referring to production date, while I am referring to model year. Apparently in the UK you guys look at the production date as the actual date the car started, while here in the US we look at the model year, (in other words the year that's printed on the window sticker) as a representation of the model.

not quite, the Europeans can order and get their cars as an earlier model year than we can. meaning the cars are released in Europe first. which makes sense since the cars are made in Europe by a European manufacturer
