The front headlight has two rings. I know the bi xenon its on the outter side. But what's the purpose of this inner light besides the led running ring? How do you even turn it on?

They are cornering lamps. Look under "lighting" in the OM. There is also a short video in the iDrive...

I believe they also come on when reversing.

It turn on when you make a turn 25 or less mph. Let you see better when you make a turn.

What's the bulb number so I can change it to crystal white or closer to 5400k?

Good question!! I've been looking all over and can't find ANYTHING!!! I guess you'll have to call the dealer and ask them for the P/N.

I have an LCI and switched to a 5000k bulb for a whiter look. On the LCI, it's an H7 bulb (I chose Philips Diamond Vision H7 bulb). It definitely gave a whiter look but since it's a cooler bulb the lumen output is less than OEM so it's not as bright.
