Self Introduction - Soon To Be New F10 Owner

Hey all,

Thought I'd start a quick post to do a self introduction.

I currently drive an F30 335i X Drive M Performance Edition. I've only had this since March of 2015 and the car is currently sitting at around 11,250 miles only. Anyone interested?

I now have a 2016 528i X Drive on order that is set to arrive at the end of November. I'm in the process of selling my F30, but if it does not sell by then, I'll be trading it in.

Carbon Black Metallic w/ Oyster/Black Dakota Interior and Fineline Anthracite Trim
Executive Edition Package
- 19" Double Spoke M sport wheels (forget the model number)
- Sport Auto w/ paddles
- Auto Trunk
- Comfort Access
- M sport package
- Rear View Camera
- without exterior lines designation (what is this??)
- Standard seats w/ lumbar support
- HUD
- HK Sound System
- Sirius XM
- M Leather Steering Wheel
- M Aero Package
- M Rear spoiler
- High-gloss shadow line
- Anthracite Roofliner
- All weather mats including trunk

I'm excited for the new car as the change was mainly due to needing something a little more functional (F30 is on the smaller side and also 6spd), but I'm definitely feeling a little bummed i'll be going from something sporty and aggressive looking, to something that makes me look like the old(er) man I am.

With that said, I'm already going to be doing the following:
- ACS lowering springs (i'm hoping these wont be too bouncy like my H&R Sport springs are currently)
- Upgrade to some OEM 20s - not sure which model yet
- Spacers (if needed, again dependant on which wheels)
- M Performance style front lip and rear diffuser (likely Selma reps from eBay)
- BMS Quick Tuner (Going from N55 to an N20 on a much heavier car is going to be quite the change)

Anyway, looking forward to learning more about this car from the wealth of knowledge on this site!

For now, a shameful plug for the car I'll be saying goodbye to fairly soon.

Your current ride looks sick! Nice wheels and color. The 5 series is bigger and more comfortable compared to the 3 series. There are many options and mods to make the ride more sport so you wont have to worry about feeling older hehe.

About an OEM wheel for the 5 series I personally love the M5 343 ones. I hope one day to get them. I like to maintain an OEM style on my ride. Good luck!

Thanks!

The 343m would be my first choice. But holy are they expensive. Maybe if I can find some Rep m5/my6 wheels? Not sure where to look. But I'll see if those are an option.

The other wheels I'm thinking about are the 356m as well. Those are also very nice!

Yeah I changed to the f10 mainly for the upgrade in comfort. And with that said I'm still a little hesitant with doing the ACS springs or springs alone in general. Maybe dinan springs/bumpstops would be better? Or are there some struts that match up well with the ACS springs? Or maybe just do coils? Haha. Tough one for me. Most coils lower the car more that I would like. So maybe that's what I'll search more on tonight.

That 335 looks pretty good, shame you decided to get rid of it.

It's a big change going from 335 to 528, I'm assuming you're well prepared, but it's totally different experience, hope it all works out for you.

I think Im prepared for it. Lol.

Thoughts about changing the 335 to the 528 started after I bought an E46 m3 back in July (mainly for track/lapping days). Having the two cars, I felt I wanted something more cushy and functional (auto so wife can drive, larger to fit two car seats more comfortably) for the daily. Unfortunately I was tboned buy a dbag running a stop sign only 7 weeks after getting it. Unfortunately it was totalled.

Anyhow, the plan is going to continue moving forward as I'm now in the market for a pre built track rat. Most likely an e36 m3 but possibly another e46 m3 if budget allows.
