I say it's simply draw of the luck.

My 550 had two electronic issues within the first couple of months of ownership, since then, no problem at all.

PS: unless you live where it snows or on rough terrain, save your money and get the rear wheel drive, i just bought a 550i in that set up. I'm in Miami where it just wont stop raining and i still don't find the need for all wheel drive, the rear wheel drive bmws are really good
