GAP insurance provider
Am searching for gap insurance.
Would like to hear experiences good or bad from anyone who has been in the unfortunate position of having to make a claim. Also, any "gotcha" items to look out for in policies? Thanks. |

Shake, I've just taken a 3 year GAP cover policy for my 2.5 year old 530d. I also took out the tyre cover at the same time and got a little discount on the total amount. The GAP cover was £110 for 3 years and the tyre insurance £305 for 3 years. Both from ALA. Never had it before but gives me a little peace of mind at least! If you pay in a lump some rather than monthly, you get a bigger discount.

I have just transferred my policy over from my previous RRSport, was with a site sponsor over on the RRS site, think I paid £180 for 4 years cover. There was a guy over on there who had made a claim through them and it seemed to be handled well, but aside from that I don't know anyone that's had to make a claim.
Things to look out for......make sure it's RTI (return to invoice) and that you have a decent cap level, so even after 3 years you are still able to get yourself into a new car. Eg if car is worth £15k in 3 years and policy is capped at £10k, then £25k aint going to get you into a new one |
