F10 LCI Headlights Retrofit
I know is real early, but lets get he discussion going.
How hard is it going to be to swap in an LCI headlight housing? I bet the LED's will be expensive\difficult. But the Xenon's should be a direct swap right? |

Nobody will know until they try it. Bmw does offer a retrofit kit for the 6 series to go to LED headlights but expect the cost to be upwards of 2-3K

Just by looking you can't say they are the same size or using the same housings. They should come out and be tried.

Yes, from press release:
"Xenon headlights are fitted as standard on all models, while Adaptive LED Headlights take their place on the options list for the first time alongside LED fog lamps."

How do the LCI Xenon lights look? Can anyone post a pic? I keep seeing what I assume are the LED headlights.
I also am jealous of the LED fog lights even though I never use them. I like the little bit off added/refined trim in there, which is pretty much unnoticeable in the grand scheme of things I guess, but details matter.

Nice! Can't express how much better the "BMW life" has been, my F10 is really more impressive than my Mercedes' in every which way.

Thx. I DO NOT like the LCI Xenon headlamps more. They look more techy and clinical, almost "unfinished". I like the pre-LCI "frosty" eyebrows more and the LED cluster at the sides that look like they're housed inside an block of ice (idk why but that's how it looks to me).

I agree. In pictures the all clear/chrome makes it look almost cheaper looking. Will have to see them in person for final judgement. Either way the change isn't worth paying thousands to swap out the old with the new.

Just an option, at least in Europe.

A lot of the options you US guys get as standard, we have to pay for, even if the base price of the car is higher too.

As a pre LCI owner, I'm pleased to say that I can't detect much of a difference overall with the LCI.
