That's not how sport mode works? Jesus, this car is really just a pile of diluted dog poo poo. I better order more replacement parts for my ZHP.

Is the stop start on the F10 as rough as the system on the F30? It's getting murdered over on that part of the forum.

I wonder if this is country dependant?
I asked the very same question from a Uk dealer some time back and this was BMW UKs official reply

"Whilst it is technically possible to perform this operation,we are currently are having in-house discussions, as BMW may be obliged to inform DVLA that this modification has been performed, which could affect the way road tax is calculated for the vehicle.
I would therefore advise you from going down this route, as the benefits of the MSA stop-start function far outweigh any inconveniences the customer maybe experiencing during their early stages of ownership.
Furthermore, BMW customer care clinics have shown that in nearly all cases, customers believe the MSA stop-start function is a valid benefit to have and this is reflected by the growing number of car competitors who are also starting to introduce this feature into their range.
Finally, please be reminded that if the vehicle is an automatic, should a customer wish to deactivate the system on one occasion, the brake pedal can be depressed twice in quick succession whilst the vehicle is coming to a standstill"

Surprised that they say it takes 4 -5 hours to do when it can be coded in a matter of minutes , unless its to do with the software that the dealers have (which is not e-sys)

I've not tried the depressing the brake pedal twice in quick sucession myself.

The 328i's 4 cyl engine is pretty rough on start up and shut down, the F10 is smoother. Also, most of the F30 forum members are pretty young, they really dont care about save gas or reducing emission.

You know, now that there is an option to modify ASS, I am not sure I want to change it. Hmmmm...

About time they came out with this! So tired of always pressing the button when I get in. I can imagine the wear and tear it causes to always have it start and stop.

Do you think you need that. I mean, the first time you make a stop of more than 2 seconds, the car will shut off and you'll know ASS is enabled.

Always having to start and stop I would think cause the starter to wear out quicker off the top of my head....it stops for everything pretty much

Just had my car done the Last User Mode ...can't be any happier. It should have been this way to begin with. Can you imagine that if you have to press that AC bottom every time you start the car just because the car is trying to save fuel?? I like the idea and new technology but it should be the owner's choice to turn the ASS on or not...

Took my car in this past Sat and they advised me not to have the reprogramming done at this time. There were some issues where it did not or would not turn off and was stuck on the eco mode. They stated BMW is working to rewrite and it will be out maybe a month from now. I will get a call from my SA when it is available and will post.

I would imagine the wear and tear of the engine components from excessive on/off depending on how much you start and stop.
