f10 520d discs and pads
Anyone recommend some pads and discs for my car at a reasonable price? Bmw are wanting a small fortune

I'd personally stick with original equipment and not original replacement disks and pads. I have tried Euro Car Parts disks and brakes on previous BMW's and was not happy with them. Brakes started to squeak after a while despite being fitted correctly and the disks wore/warped a lot quicker than the OEM ones.
The other alternative is to go for a reputable upgrade that may cost less than OEM, looked into this in the past but never went with it so don't have enough experience of this type of set up. I'm sure others will chip in...

I've seen genuine parts on eBay a bit cheaper and if you're doing it yourself it might offer a reasonable saving.
If DIY the rears aren't that straightforward but still do-able, search the forum for full instructions, it's the electronic handbrake that causes the problem. |

Just looking for discs now have the oem pads ive come across at a good price.
Any suggestions for the discs?

How much did BMW want poolie? I have heard similar horror stories. What about using a reputable 3rd party that uses original BMW parts?

Gee whiz, thats for front and rear?
TO put it into context my wife's Toyota Corolla was £310 two years ago for front pads and disks. So I'd guess the same for rear. Giving a total of £620 for the car. So BMW is double if the price you mention is front and rear and includes disks too.....

My brakes suffered after a long drive on salty gritty roads in January followed by a week of no use. Discs corroded, callipers/backplates/hubs furry, the fronts scrubbed up after HEAVY breaking sessions but the rears didn't, remaining heavily corroded.
I paid a visit to my dealer and pleaded my case and to my surprise they replaced rear discs and pads as a goodwill gesture. From now on any sign of surface rust on the discs I will take it for a spin to clean them up, once rust gets hold there is no going back! |

Yes front and rear Jakarta kid
 TRW have a good rating but cant see anywhere I can get the discs on net Lots on the bay but fook knows,, brembo suppose to be a good make but they seem to cheap IMO. Help
