Question on production tracking & options
Quick question on the options listed under "production status" on BMW website. When I ordered my car, I made sure that it will be produced in September, to include 704. I have 704 clearly listed on my order sheet. The order was submitted to BMW on 8/19. Now, on 9/2 I'm checking production status of my vehicle, and it says it is entered into production.
There is no 704 listed under M-Sport pack, even though the rest of the options included in the M-sport, such as LED Fog Lights, Anthracite headliner, Shadowline exterior trim, M steering wheel, and Aerodynamic kit are listed. Do they just not list it yet, or am I getting screwed out of 704? Anybody who has a car on order with 704 could you please confirm they should show it under the list of things included in M-Sport pack? Thanks! |

I noticed the same thing on my order --- the 704 M-Suspension is listed at the bottom kind of as an afterthought on the order sheet, but not on the website tracking options list.
I emailed my salesman to see what's going on, but I haven't heard back. They probably don't know either. Surely the m-suspension wouldn't be something done at port. |

Do you have a link to the site that allows you to track your order. I would be interested in seeing if 704 is listed there.

Do you have your VIN already? If so then check it out in here: www.bmwvin.com

Once you get your VIN, you go to bmwusa.com and go to my bmw and log in. From there you can enter the last 6 digits of the VIN and track your car.

+ 1 on what the others said about checking the VIN. What does your build sheet from your dealer list? The BMW site is always messed up as far as options and tracking.

I'm in the same boat, but if I may be able to take some stress away from you guys, I'll surely try.
I noticed the same thing when my car went into production on the BMW USA website--no 704 included under the M-sport package. I immediately emailed my CA and told him about my concern. He looked up the build order and reassured me that it was included. This guy is pretty on top of things and told me when my car was going into production 2 days before it actually happened. Also, the "Options" list on my BMW tracking page shows the "ACC Stop & Go + Active Driving Assistant" under the Driver Assistance Plus Package. Yet, I did not select the ACC Stop & Go when I ordered the Driver Assistance Plus Package. What I'm trying to say is that the options that show up on your BMW tracking page is likely just a "cut and paste" list from the BMW "build" website. It doesn't adjust to individual choices of adding or deleting certain options from each package. So, it's more than likely that our cars will have the 704 package simply because the the BMW tracking page is not very accurate. By the way, my car was purchased on 8/22 and went into production last Friday, if it matters. |

If you don't yet have a VIN, simply have your CA run a VIR (Vehicle Inquiry Report) and email it to you. It will have all the major option codes associated with the vehicle, much like the complete VIN option report you will access later on in the production cycle.

What you'll see on the BMW tracker is typically whatever car was originally allocated to your dealer. The dealer replaced that allocation with your car, and it takes a few days after productuion starts for the details to be updated. Still, the site is really not all that accurate. The status line 1-800-831-1117 is more up to date than the website. You'll need your production order number (suggest typing it with your phone at the voice prompts).
FYI - many people with recent MSport builds are reporting that the 704 suspension was on their order sheets starting with mid-August builds (somewhere around August 19th) rather than the advertised September date. |

Good to have an official confirmation. I still don't show correct stuff on my "build" list, even though it says production has been finished. How can I get a VIN number? I only have production number.
