Passing on a good deal - Euro Fog Light Switch

ECS sells the module for $150 shipped, which isn't too bad, but I've been holding out and found it for ~$99 US, shipped from Germany. I purchased one and wanted to pass the deal onto another user on here who might be looking for a switch.

This is a cool little personalization for us American owners who are missing the rear fog light button. An easy swap that requires no coding and is a fun little DIY

I checked out the listing and the only issue I have with it is that it is USED, not NEW. It is a cool mod though, I have it myself.

Oh! I missed that part. I think it will work out well regardless

All that's required to install is unplug the current one and plug this one in and it will just work? all the wiring and everything is already there?

Yes, simply unplug the current one and plug the euro one in. Nothing else

Do you know if having the LED lighting package makes any difference? My F10 has LEDs and I was curious, but willing to give it a go anyway.

Shouldn't matter. It should still be plug and play

When you use the rear fog lights, does it help with night time visibility and/or the rear-view camera?

It's like driving with your brake lights on.
I hate being behind a car with these on, blinds me like F.

The rule is actually that the last car in a convoy should use this, if a car catches up to you you are supposed to switch yours off.

Edit: added pictures.
Top two are normal lights
Bottom two are fog lights on.

I hate people who do these stupid light mods. They are absolutely a prick to other drivers. I know there are people who use them properly but most won't. I've been blinded on the daily by people with cheap HID kits, tail light mods, brighter DRLs, etc...

I hope they start handing out tickets to these retards.

So maybe shouldn't you have said you hate people who use these types of lights improperly rather than saying you hate people with these mods? In fact I wouldn't even call it a mod considering it's standard in Europe...

I hate people who drive with their high beams on all the time not people who have high beams on their car...

I also hate people that think that high beams are a substitute light source when you have a normal front bulb that is out... it's not a substitute it's still blinding and I plan on getting this mod to blink at and shine at people behind me who use their high beams inappropriately, as well as added light when backing up, because I can't see anything in my rearview camera at night...

You're right and I apologize. But these people seriously gets on my nerve to the highest degree. I just hate ignorance and inconsideration in general.

I used to have it on my E92... I only used it in 2 situations, during foggy conditions, and if some idiot was tailgating me. I didn't drive with them on otherwise. I don't have it for my F10 though.

Good idea for the tailgators! I usually just hold my windshield cleaner on and it drenches them, esp on the highway. I see them slow down and then turn their wipers on.

Mine is MY13 so I don't have LED lighting therefore I can't confirm this.

Does anyone know of retailers selling this switch for less than ECS?

I have had it on all my Porsches/Audis and find it to be an indispensable safety feature when driving in the fog. There were numerous times where I could barely see the car ahead of me in thick fog and took comfort in the fact that at least the cars behind me would have a better chance of seeing my car.
