If it is same as the real Piano finish then yes it will and need to polish it.
Use a clean Microfibre cloth to wipe and don't use this coth to wipe on other items.

Kind of.

Agree with cleaning with microfiber cloth (do NOT use a wood paper-based napkin), but it's pretty durable (it sure seems similar to the wood lacquer unless I'm totally wrong). But valets and kids and accidental reaches across can damage / scratch it.
