I'm wondering how much torque our auto trans can hold. I emailed pure turbos about the stage 1 they have and they said our trans is stronger than the 135/335 and he's seen them hold 600wtq fine. That seems crazy to me

Our stage 2 option costs additional $150. The final price varies, depending on what options you choose.

That is actually not true. The 8HP45 gearbox is internally identical between 335/435/535. THe gearbox is rated to only 450nm by ZF, but in reality can handle 600NM crank safely. Yes, this gearbox can support 600wtq, but it will not last long.

I'm most likely getting your stage 2 tune. Whats the max torque you think our autos can hold ?

For both auto and manual, we are limiting torque to around 420ftlb wheel. That is a relatively safe range for both gear boxes.

I thought about going stage 1 myself. It's only $1000. They said lower to mid rpm it's like stock and in higher rpms 50-70whp gain. Have to see what my auto trans can handle safely.

Yes the turbo upgrade is on the roadmap. MP is putting the finishing touches on the stage 2 tune to see what we can get out of the stock turbo. Once that is complete which is scheduled for this week on the dyno, I'll start heading towards the turbo upgrade. We think we'll be able to get 380whp from the stock turbo. Trans is already safely maxed at 420wtq and that has been performing very well so far. Currently I'm roughly 340/420 total output. Stage 1 from pure is most likely my path too. Pure Stage 1 is the stock wheel just modified. So a stage 2 tune from MP with a stage 1 turbo from pure (providing all the testing goes well this week) it's estimated output for that setup should be about 420/420.

Current stock turbo: 340/420
Projected final tune stock turbo: 380/420
Projected PTS1 420/420
Projected PTS2 520/420

Is this all on Pump 93?

My plan is to go Pure Stage 1 as well.

This planned is with 91 / e40, essentially 93.

AWESOME! so after all said and done when you do the stage 1 PureTurbo upgrade i'm assuming MP will have to make more adjustments correct? i wonder if they could save the settings that way when i send my unit in they can use your file to work off of? i have a shop that can swap the turbo in but i'm on the fence in regards to MP?

MP can program the tune to any configuration Pure or otherwise. m-boot is the best option out there for bench flashing because of the remote ability. Another reason MP is first choice for flashing is because on the 535 F10 they found what was holding us back from being like our little brothers the F30. Our computers are programmed differently for more grandpa settings. Maf, wastegate, rpm / torque management. That said if you don't address those it won't matter what tune you get, those are the main limiting factors on our F10's. You could get the fanciest tune and biggest turbo and it will all go to waste because those parameters have to be addressed. So yes, MP can tune to your hardware Pure or otherwise.

A piggyback will never fix the above mentioned issues and a flash from else where will not either. MissionPerformance has made hybrid maps that correct our limiters.
