Catless DPS? Or Catless with resenator DPS?

Hey guys I have a F10 N55 and I'm looking to buy Downpipes. Which route should I go?

AR catless Downpipes

Or

AR catless WITH RESONATOR downpipes?

Who recommends what?

Isn't the point of getting an aftermarket downpipe is to increase performance? If that's the case you should go with catless for a seamless smooth pipe instead of sticking a resonator in there. But, if you care about the noise>performance go with the resonator.

agree! Some states have smog emissions so if i was back in Cali i would opt for Catted but being in OH there's no emissions so i'd go Catless in a heart beat! is there emissions in NY?

If you are keeping stock turbo, go with catless with resonators.
Performance increase is the same as catless and it sounds better

I am looking to do the same as Cmfigueroa16.

@mike@x-ph.com You say to go with the catless WITh resonator if keeping the stock turbos. What can happen if keeping the stock turbos and getting the NON resonator?????

Only difference between the 2 on stock turbos is that non res sounds cleaner.
Catless sounds raspy on high RPM thats all

resonators improve exhaust flow by resonating the exhaust flow, which is a form of turbulence (improve the flow of exhaust, essentially a good type of backpressure) which also fine-tunes the exhaust note to sound how AR thinks this inline 6 engine should sound. I recommend resonated.

Just remove your stock downpipe, drill out the catalytic medium, clean it up and reinstall. Done.

The rapid changes in pipe diameter are bad for both flow and sound. A straight pipe is much better.

I wouldn't bother with a resonator that close to the turbo. The packing will be burnt out in no time. It's just too close.

Theoretically? Yes.
Noticeably? Not even a little.

The forum members who have hollowed out their stock downpipes have great things to say. The only downside I have read about is that it may not be as loud or raspy as aftermarket. To some that is yet another reason why OEM could be a better option.
