JB4 stock car Emissions Failed.
Hi all, i know some of this has been covered but this is a little different.
I have 2013 535xi with JB4 map 1. No other mods, stock airbox, stock catalytics. Had it for a year, just went for emissions test and failed. Showing Evaporative System, Heated O2 Sensor and Oxygen Sensor showing as not ready. Does anyone know if it could be due to JB4 interrupting the signals?

You need to go to map 0 and drive to let the monitors set and yes this has been covered before

Thank you all. I am not very often on this site and had trouble finding info through search. didn't have time to brows through hundreds of pages.
Your response is appreciated. Going to run back tomorrow morning.

Every time your mass clear codes your car will not be in the ready state. It requires X amount of miles for the car to reset. The problem would likely be the JB4 in that its always clearing codes automagically. Maybe go to map 0 as suggested above and drive around for whatever the miles and speed is required to reset.
In my case, my MP flash tune is in the ready state 30 seconds after clearing codes manually!

just some extra info. Last year I had the exact same issue. I put my car on Map 0 and for about two weeks I drove around within moderate speeds in hopes that I could get a passing mark for emission. Unfortunately, I still failed. I had to completely remove my JB4, wait for all the sensors to reset before I was able to bring back for a passing emissions.
I know a lot of guys here (as mentioned above) were able to pass without having to remove, but I didn't have that luck unfortunately. In NY, we have annual inspections.. so going to try Map 0 again in hopes of not having to remove the JB4. Just wanted to share in case you had/have the same issue. |

With most cars , JB4 can be on map 0 and it will pass emissions.
With some unlucky ones, you need to completely remove the JB4.
