Hello dear bimmers.I am glad to be registered on this forum. I hope everyone is good. I have bmw F11 2013 preface lift and weird double beep sometimes i hear. sometimes 10 times in 10 minutes sometimes never. Can someone tell me what is that. THANKS IN ADVANCE

Nope…still not working. I see a pic of a green Monte Carlo…and when the lay button is pressed…a white line flickers but never goes to the end or makes a sound.

Kind of scary using an unknown source…made me wonder if it was installing spyware or other bad mojo since it did nothing but act like it was installing something instead of playing sound source.

Try a well known source like youtube. The pic below is what i get when i click your link:

The Streamable link works for me. No idea on the sound though.

The F10 site isn't that bad, I just think that five series owners are into DIY that much.
I imagine the seven series forums are even quieter.

Nope…just tried again and it says the video has been archived…must not be meant for me to respond.

Ah. I heard the double beep. I've never heard that from my car. Is yours a diesel engine? It sounds like it a bit when you start it. If so, perhaps this is a sound related to glow plugs being warm enough, or something like that? I'm just guessing here as I know nothing at all about BMW diesels.

Judging from this video below, it has almost identical interval between beeps but different sound tho

Thanks for uploading the sound clip to another platform…i was cable to hear it this time.

But like the 2 posts above…it is a sound I’ve never heard before. BMW does use different tones/sounds for some things in different markets…do you notice any other warning lights or messages when you hear the 2 beeps? If you pull up check control in iDrive…are there any messages?

Or have you done any coding that could have selected a different warning tone like for the MINI, Rolls Royce, or new electric BMWs?

You can also determine if the 2 beeps you hear are coming from your GONG/CHIME if you go into the instrument cluster TESTs. If unfamiliar with unlocking your cluster…do you have an odometer reset button on your instrument cluster? If yes, you press and hold that buttonn(will come back later with more details)…if you don’t have an odometer reset button, then you have to use the BC button on your turn indicator stalk.

i cant be sure from where this sound come very weird like center console or climate, i dont have anyfaults in veliche information , i have ista d and no faults code too, this sound i can hear sometimes even when car is turned off. but the most time is when shifting knob

Is there anything that is always consistent when you hear the 2 beeps? Before you wrote the last line in post above (hear it when the car is off)…I was going to ask if it could be speed related since there is a warning in iDrive for an alert when a specific speed is met.

i checked speed limit too turned off , it will hear mostly when i use shift knob and brake but sometimes will not beep beep , i was outside the car girlfriend say it beeped 3 times even when car is off. I dont know what to do can i reset something all settings in idrive?
