KW suspension

Hello,

I found KW coilover kit in pretty good price. The seller showed the pictures and it looks like the one coilover (left one on the picture) is missing bottom spring. Might be a dumb question but is that spring something important?

For my X-Drive version, one pair (front or rear, forget which) has a helper spring, the other pair does not.

Yes, they're important. You can see that the left spring isn't clocked correctly in the top hat. The helper spring would prevent that.

Agree with Unspec. Assuming no damage to the main spring you should be able to get the helper spring and the plastic spacer from KW as a replacement part.

I just got a set of used V3 for my XDRIVE as well, and needed new rear threaded collars and all four dust boots. Parts from KW were reasonable.

I would also consider a new rubber spring isolator. If the spring has been improperly clocked with the weight of the car on it, it could be damaged. I would give that particular unit a good check for other damage while you're at it just to be sure the spring never got dislodged completely and scratched the damper shaft or something.

Yep just call them up. No idea WHY the helper spring would be missing on only one though. Kind of bizarre.

My used V3 had all the damper settings backed all the way off, except the bump on the front shocks… maybe because they require a 2mm Allen key to adjust and they couldn't get to them?

Also, one of the rear spring perches was damaged and the spring showed signs of coil bind. Not sure how you manage that? Maybe cranked the ride height way up with all the damping dialed out and loaded the car down before off-roading? No idea, people do weird things man…

Ordered two new rear spring perches, four dust shields and a spare 2mm adjuster. Set everything to factory default specs and installed at the same ride height as my previous budget coilovers, they're brilliant!

Thanks for advice guys!
