2014 BMW 550i Msport Alpine White Lease Assumption
2014 loaded BMW 550i up for lease transfer. Alpine white exterior, beige nappa leather interior with aluminum hexagon trim. Car was ordered with factory installed M performance carbon fiber rear spoiler and black front grills. Car is perfect but need to get into something bigger. It's always in the garage, no smokers, no pets or any other funny business. The lease is for 3 years/30000 miles through BMWFS. It comes due June 2017 so there are 18 months left. Mileage as of today is 16550, equating to 740 miles per month remaining. Extra mileage can be purchased for cheap if required. Residual at the end of the lease is $48763. The lease has a $4900 multiple security deposit in order to get a ridiculously low monthly rate of $690.96 (including all fees/taxes in California). This will be refunded in full at the end of the lease and can be confirmed by BMWFS. The transferee will be required to pay the $4900 deposit (which they get back at the end of the lease) as well as the lease transfer fee ($500). Last edited by rgile; 01-24-2016 at 11:00 PM.. |

$5K out of pocket to get a car with 740 miles available per month?!?
Great car, great monthly payment, horrible deal overall. That's over $350/mo on top when spread out over the remaining months, not to mention the anemic mileage... I'm actively searching for lease assumptions, and while your monthly payment caught my eye, the fine print made me laugh out loud. There is a nearly identical (option-wise, although different colors) 550i on swapalease at this very moment with 1k miles a month and a 3k INCENTIVE to take the lease over. Something to consider.

Not sure what you're all whining about. It's $5K out of pocket upfront that you'll get back 100% at lease end. If you have the money upfront, this isn't a problem, like it wasn't for me when I got the car. How much am I really going to make in interest on $5K vs the risk of investing it anything with a decent return these days. The savings in monthly payments however is real savings.
As for the other car offering a $3k incentive, sure, it has a terrible monthly payment it needs to offset and has 780 ish miles per month. Not sure what you're looking at with 1000 miles a month, that is similarly equipped and has a $690 a month payment with taxes included in California. My car is one of the cheapest ways to drive a modern, fully equipped F10 550i. And for me that's all that matters. Lots of people are hung up on residuals and all that, but for someone who intends to give it back and get something else, like me, its irrelevant. For me at the end of the term how much did I spend on ownership, that's all that matters. I could have bought it, but it would have been worse for me based on the lease I got. If you try and get a new one now it costs more (for the exact same car) and you're shelling out for the initial costs. For anyone who does a 10000 mile a year lease its right on track. For me that's what I need and suits me just right. If I want more miles I'll buy them at the end, instead of shelling out upfront for miles that I might never use. So to each their own. You may laugh out loud but I'm not sure why. If you don't have a fully refundable $5K deposit to put down on a car like a 550i, you might want to look at something more affordable. |
