My CA is going to do a locate for me but wondering if I should wait if the March builds will have the full color Head-up display? Anyone know for sure? I see the extended black panel when building the car and adding HUD but did not see anything about full color HUD

I'd wait even if it was just for the extended black panel

I'd guess yes but can't say I saw any real confirmation. BMW are masters of JIT manufacturing and I don't see why they'd have some regions outfitted with the old HUD and others with the new.

I have a F10 that just finished production and 6WA and 6NR are both on my VIR, unfortunately the full color HUD (610) retained it's old option code (even in Europe) so we won't know for sure until someone takes delivery of a 3/11 car.

I was told by someone in authority at BMWNA that March builds will have the full color HUD for the US. (Took three weeks of phone calls and email to get that answer.)

anyone in the USA actually receive a 5 series bimmer with the full color HUD? which week was your build?

My US spec build week 12 550i has HUD and is at my local dealer here in Germany. I should be taking delivery of it this Monday the 4th. I will let you know if no one else has.

All I can say is that my CA sent me a BMW Bulletin stating that beginning with week 9 builds (I think it was week 9, I can double-check if necessary) the HUD will be in color.

Given that this is a BMW document (presumably), take it FWIW.

I was shown the exact same thing from BMW Canada as well. It had pictures of the color HUD and extended black panel.

Interesting I will also be picking my US spec 550 Msport with 6WA on Monday the 4th!

Sweet, despite an ocean seperating us we will both have a splendid 4th!

Only downfall for me is soon as I take delivery I am taking it to be worked on for another 2 days ... the suffering ...
