drl question

i have a 2011 535 ix . Can someone explain the DRL setting diferences in auto mode? I notice i seemed to get a one angel eye and one full light at times in the daytime. Any explanation or is something amiss ?

When you turn a blinker on, that side's full light comes on for a few long seconds, angel eyes stay on full time. Not sure what the idea is, since only the oncoming traffic can see it and they can see the blinker. Probably in the manual someplace
