Project Greyhound: Remus Quad & M5 Diffuser
Hey everyone,
I had originally planned to install a vorsteiner diffuser on my car but after the part was backordered for over 6 weeks I just decided to do an OEM M5 diffuser in gloss black instead. From my research on the forums, I was worried that the 535i quad exhausts may not fit with the M5 diffuser without modifications. However, the fitment from the Remus exhaust was a lot more inward than most exhaust from the get go so I decided to give it a try anyway. Everything needed to install the M5 diffuser was only a fraction of how much a Vorsteiner diffuser was going to be so that was even sweeter. I also decided to paint the lower insert in gloss black because I'm personally not a big fan of matte plastic. I did this following the DIYs posted by Alan l. and to my surprise the install was a breeze. The exhaust fit perfectly without me even have to adjust anything. The only thing I had to do was 3M tape two sensors that were on the original 535i adaptor to the M5 adaptor. Comfort access with the kick trunk-release works perfectly. Check out the pics below: DIY here: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=950378 Before: After: Cold start and revs: Last edited by CaliE90; 03-17-2014 at 08:50 PM.. |

The exhaust is excellent. Nice tone and not too loud. Very minimum drone unless you're extremely sensitive to it.

There's no reason not to. It's actually cheaper to get the M5 diffuser then it is to get the M-performance one even after you factor in paint
Thanks! |

I prefer the contrast of the black. Also helps to differentiate it from M5s

Looks 1000x better Jz
I agree that after getting this diffuser with the adapter plus paint it is still cheaper than the oem M performance one that i use to have. I too also prefer it in gloss black over body color for more contrast. This diffuser works on cars that are slightly modified (wheels etc..) It could be a little overly aggressive on a bone stock car however. Either way its a bargain compared to whats offered out there that cost 10X as much with sh1tty fitment. This thing snaps in place perfect. Alan
