Auto Start/Stop & Ready Radio State

Hi All.

Searched the forums and could not find the answer I was looking for. Hope you can help. Couple of questions:

How do you completely disengage the auto start/stop function without having the press the button each time? Is there a way?

Is there a way for the radio to completely shut off once you turn the ignition off. It seems to stay in radio ready state mode (stays on) for a few minutes, which I am not a fan of. Plenty of times where I'll just get out of the car and have no need to lock the doors.

Thanks in advance.

I'm interested in this as well and so far it looks like we can code the car to remember the last setting...off.

1. Coding. You can have it coded to remember your last selection.
2. Press the start / stop button twice (this is in the manual).

1. There is a TSB that allows your dealer to apply this patch for free.
2.lock you car after exiting. This shuts off everything.

I'll try # 2 to see if it works. Thanks.

Just had the dealer code my auto start/stop to the last setting option so I no longer have to deal with this PIA. They wouldn't do it at first but I kept pushing and eventually had to send a few links to some of these threads before my SA would do it.

Good to know. I'll refer to the threads as well if I have any issues. Thanks!

You can do the coding yourself and code a bunch of other things too.

For all that you should have just done it yourself via coding.

Ugh! I am sorry. I did check before posting though, and the OP is from the States. So, the TSB initially offered for free installation.

I think it's really cool how this forum brings so many people across the globe together. I mean, I am in the US and you are in HK and we both like BMW. How cool is that?

Is there anyone from Australia that had the auto start/stop coded to the last setting . My dealer can't do it.

As long as you can follow a few steps and get a cable, why don't you do it yourself so you don't depend on the dealer? It's really not that bad...

I've done this thus far:
Auto Start/Stop set to last used
Keyfob and CA close mirrors
Stop engine opens doors
Opening door stops radio if car stopped
HUD Redial List
HUD Entertainment list
Removed iDrive disclaimers
Removed backup/around view/front camera disclaimers
Removed speedlock
Play Movies from USB
Removed seatbelt reminder gongs (left light reminder on)
Follow Me Home lights from keyfob
PSI/Temp for tires
