Msport rear bumper on a regular bodied f10
Hows it going everybody?
Recently bought a brand new Arkym rear diffuser for my 535i. Whoops I don't have a M-sport bumper on my car. Rather then return it I want to just buy the correct bumper and put it on. Is the the m-sport rear bumper fully compatible with a non-msport f10? Meaning will installation consist of removing the old bumper and replacing it? Or do I need to have different body parts on the back as well? |

If you choose OEM, this is the parts lists
http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...m+sport+bumper If you buy an aftermarket kit, it should just bolt on |

there are additional parts under the rear cover you'll need, part #s vary by trim and year.
For my 2011 535 with PDC, the Msport rear conversion parts I used were: - This is the actual bumper cover (mine came with the tow hook cover) Bumper cover W/M TRIM, w/park sensor 51128048594 - This is a plastic reinforcement/crash impact piece that attached to the current reinforcement part. It extends the lower portion so that the rear lower plate that attaches to the diffuser will have a mounting point VEHICLE TRIM, BUMPER REAR 51127904979 - This is a plate that goes from the above plastic piece to the car's under chassis Guide W/M TRIM, w/o trailer coupling 51127906845 - Left and right Reflectors Reflector W/M TRIM L 63147842955 Reflector W/M TRIM R 63147842956 As mentioned above, research your setup to be 100% sure what you need since the parts are different for different years/models. I ended up getting some extra parts I thought I needed based on the various diagrams but didn't end up needing them - so hope this helps if you have a US 2011 535. |

I originally used that post to get a feel for the parts, but it turns out some of these have very minimal differences and may not be needed. Guide, center rear M 51127906292 was not needed for my car, it looked identical to my stock one, just a different part #, confirmed by my body shop + me cause I was there and saw the parts side by side. Cover, tow fitting, rear, 51127240133 was not needed either, the cover I got from BMW already had this on it 51127904979 was not mentioned on this thread - but it is needed if you want a mounting point for the diffuser. Technically, you can get away without it, but the bottom of your diffuser will not be as firmly mounted since this helps support it from the underside. If you end up needing parts... hit me up, I still have brand new ones on ebay and can give them to you dirt cheap since my getbmwparts return period passed |

So if I got an aftermarket bumper kit then I wouldnt need additional parts? OEM might end up being out of my budget.
Or would i still need additional parts to make it fit correctly? |

The aftermarket would come complete - they'll either supply the parts to make it work or will design it to work with your non m sport parts
Total oem parts for me was about 750, maybe use that for reference to compare savings of going aftermarket vs oem fit. |

Since Lazz doesn't need the diffuser, I did not include that cost: 51128048594 bumper cover 571.98 51127906845 lower guide 21.35 51128053584 mount 29.25 63147842955 L reflector 14.59 63147842956 R reflector 14.59 651.76 With the exception of my rear (and front) bumpers, I bought all other parts online at getbmwparts.com because their pricing is very close to cost and if you order enough, you can get free shipping, no TAX to California plus you might find a coupon for 20% off if they are running specials. My bumpers were sorta hooked up - I have a friend that is a mechanic/technician at BMW, so he can use his discount (I think it is 5% over cost) to get my bumpers since no one online was close to cost and all online retailers needed to charge extra $$ to ship such a large item. Even without the hookup, you should still be able to get it to $700 if you get the bumper from bmwpartspro.com 51128048594 is $623.93 which isn't too bad over cost. You just gotta worry about shipping or find a local dealership that is willing to price match internet pricing. I still have all of my costs (front/back + paint) documented, let me know if you all want it posted. tx |

I'm not sure where this information is coming from but I just installed a m-sport bumper on a non-m sport and didn't need nothing other than bumper, diffuser and undertray that holds the diffuser up |
