Onboard NAV and Black Panel serious dysfunctions...
Good evening,
My 530d xDrive will be 3 months tomorrow. It is a 2012 model that seems to have problems with electronics. Two different problems have emerged: The first concerns the operation of the Panel Display Black. It happend 2 weeks ago, after a short stop to buy some bread, when I started the car, the Black Panel Display remained totally off. (black) I had to stop the car, and after an unsuccessful attempt, then a second try, the Panel Display Black had returned to normal operation. The second is about the start of the navigation system. This afternoon, when turning on the engine with electronics (in a single shot/ push of the button), the screen of the navigation system turned completely orange instead of displaying the BMW logo and then died completely. (black) Again, I had to stop the car, get out of the car, lock it, wait until all the interior lights turned off (after delays) and then and only then, when pushing the ON / Start button again, I was able to recover the normal operation of the GPS screen. Do any of you have already had these electronic problems? Thank you for any help, V1. |

I had the small problem with the navigation screen but mine did not reset itself when I turn the car off and turned it back on. Mine just remained orange and the dealership had to replace the whole navigation module. That repair took two days to complete.

Ok.... Thank you for your answer solaraxis.
I nearly regret that the BPD and the NAV screen turned back on to normal. This is not reassuring when it happens to a brand new (yet second revision) car. I will inform the dealer so he might accept to change the NAV unit and maybe the BPD if this happens again in the future... Anyone else with problems like theses ? I had a similar problem with 2011 f11 with business nav, basically it would reset its self, forget completely where it was going and put you about 10 yards to the left on the screen of your actual position. This happen on 4 separate occasions, twice turning left and twice under hard acceleration... Then stopped, not had it again, with no interfering required the dealer....
